Outgoing England coach Trevor Bayliss says England captain Joe Root is under”no stress at all” despite failure to reclaim the Ashes from Australia.
Thursday’s fourth and fifth Ashes Test at The Oval will be Bayliss’ assignment as England head coach.
Bayliss does not believe Root’s place is under threat, although australia retained the Ashes at Old Trafford on Sunday.
“He has not encounter question from anybody making any conclusions,” he explained.
Root, who presided over England’s 4-0 defeat in Australia has struck 6,965 conducts in 85 Tests for England since his introduction in December 2012.
Australian Bayliss added:”Everybody goes through periods where they do not score as many runs as they would like. I believe the team have bowled well to himso we’ll see how things go farther down the line.
“In my viewpoint, he had been our premier batter and the Australians always attempt to target the opposition ruler. He’s played well when he’s got begins and I do not see a lot of issues.”
When his contract expires at the end of this Ashes, bayliss, who led England to World Cup glory will resign after four years as coach.
Arranging a return to Australia, he thinks”it’s time for somebody else to come up with a new voice”.
“On one hand I’m sad to be leaving. It’s been a fantastic environment everyone has made me feel in your home.
“From a cricket sense we’ve had plenty of good performances, the cherry on top the World Cup triumph.
“But I am looking forward to getting home.”
Following success in the first Test, Australia’s players were accused of reliving England spinner Jack Leach since Steve Smith had been seen wearing a set of eyeglasses.
Bayliss, however, has dismissed that as”fake information, like Donald Trump states”.
He added:”No-one has mentioned it spoken about it. It’s all talk with you guys [the media].”
Australia coach Justin Langer insisted Smith instead mimicked his country opener Chris Rogers.
“Experience tells me when you are doing well, people will try and pick holes from you,” Langer said.
“I know the fact, Chris Rogers is a superb partner of the group, that’s all it’s about. Individuals may make up what they enjoy about it, but that is the truth.”
