Curacao goalkeeper Jarzinho Pieter has died the day before his group were expected to play Haiti body Concacaf has said.
Pieter, 31, died on Monday at the club in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
The players have opted to proceed with the Concacaf Nations League game”from homage” to Pieter, who had played 12 times for its Caribbean island.
A moment’s silence would be held before Tuesday’s match (23:00 BST) and earlier all other games in the contest.
Pieter was the back-up keeper to global team-mate Eloy Room and performed Curacao side Centro Dominguito.
The Curacao squad includes Leandro Bacuna of both Cardiff and also his younger brother Juninho of Huddersfield, in Addition to Oldham set Zeus de la Paz and Gevaro Nepomuceno.
Leandro Bacuna paid tribute to his pal and team-mate on Instagram describing him as with a”lovely heart” and then”my brother from another mother”.
“The Soccer Federation of Curacao advised the Confederation that, after consulting with the gamers, they decided to play with tomorrow’s game against Haiti in homage to their team-mate,” Concacaf said in announcement.
“A minute of silence took place today from the matches of the League of Nations Concacaf and will take place before the kick-off tomorrowas a tribute to the Confederation and also in memory of Jarzinho for his contributions to soccer.”
