Week 8 College Football Odds Report

The college football season is beyond the halfway stage and the push for a bowl game or the College Football Playoff is on. There are a number of large spreads for some of the AP Top 25 teams, especially: No. 4 Ohio State (-28) in Northwestern, West Virginia at No. 5 Oklahoma (-33.5), No. 6 Wisconsin (-31) at Illinois and Tennessee in No. 1 Alabama (-34.5).
The biggest line movement one of the ranked teams so much is UL Monroe at No. 24 Appalachian State in which the Mountaineers opened at -17 and have??fallen to -14.5. Meanwhile, the largest total movement is at the No. 6 Wisconsin in Illinois game where the total opened at 52 points and has dropped to 49.5.
Below is a listing of all the spreads and totals for most of the rated games in Week 8.
Check out our NCAAF chances page??to see the many odds for these games the other college and all matches of the week.
Temple vs SMU Game Center
Line History
Temple picked up its second victory over a ranked opponent last week by edging then-No. The Owls, and now 23 Memphis look to get a third. Outside of an ugly loss at Buffalo in Week 3, Temple might be in the Top 25 itself. The Mustangs are coming off their bye week deliver a 6-0 record and then at Week 7. In addition, SMU is 5-1 ATS, just failing to cover its last time out against Tulsa.
This line has moved into more than a touchdown for SMU today, which I find a little surprising since -6.5 looked like an proper line. The Mustangs have a balance on crime and on the floor, while the Owls lean longer on their attack with QB Anthony Russo. Defensively, Temple is much better compared to SMU and is strong against the run game, although the Mustangs are only so-so in stopping opposing quarterbacks.
Temple has covered the last three meetings in each including winning two of these games but that can be their first meeting since 2016. That said the prior three competitions involving these schools were -12 (Temple, 2016), -13.5 (Temple, 2015) and -14 (SMU, 2013). I anticipate a bit of also this line closure about -7 and a buyback for the Owls for the Mustangs.
Michigan vs Penn State Game Center
Line History
After knocking off then-No, the Nittany Lions eye that was undefeated victories over ranked opponents. 17 Iowa week 17-12. Meanwhile stomped around the street. 13 Wisconsin at Week 4, Michigan has rattled off three consecutive wins. 14 Iowa, also it showed some art against??weaker teams in Rutgers and Illinois.
The Wolverines have had the Nittany Lions’ number lately, moving 4-1 SU and ATS but that only loss came from the previous competition at Beaver Stadium at 2017. Penn State won this game 42-13 also it was the only time that the Nittany Lions had been??preferred in the last seven meetings over Michigan.
Penn State has had a much better offense and defense compared to Michigan this season but has had some vulnerabilities in its own secondary, surrendering an average of 205.8 passing yards per game. The Nittany Lions will gladly let Wolverines QB Shea Patterson attempt to conquer on them as he has the cheapest average yards per completion and the lowest pass completion percentage of the career. I could see this lineup continue to proceed in favor of Penn State.
Boise State vs BYU Game Center
Line History
Because it makes its way boise State continues to climb the ranks. Copy Chase Cord filled in admirably although the Broncos faced some adversity week because accurate freshman Hank Bachmeier, their quarterback, left the game with a hip injury. On the opposing side, BYU is returning home seeking its first win since Week 3 when it darkened then-No. 24 USC 30-27 in overtime.
Even though the Broncos have had the Cougars’ amount recently, winning five of the previous seven meetings they’ve just covered in just two of those matches. Boise State has been favored between these teams in every one of the last five competitions, with four of these having a spread of a touchdown or longer.
BYU’s offense has been anemic this year, averaging 22.3 points per game, which will not bode well this week since Boise State ranks 27th in college soccer with just 19.5 points allowed per game. It is a little surprising to find this line remain stagnant thus far and it can stay there weekly, but if it moves, I think it will move in favour of Boise State.
Oregon vs Washington Game Center
Line History
After falling in its season opener from then-No. 16 Auburn, Oregon has rattled off five consecutive wins. Washington continues to be a tough team falling into Stanford and Cal, while earning a success. 21 USC and taking good care of business.
The Ducks have been a wager against the Huskies, covering in seven of these and winning eight of the past ten meetings, but recently they’re 1-2 ATS within the previous three. This past year, Oregon was a 3.5-point underdog in the home to Washington and won 30-27. Now we’re viewing a 6.5-point swing along with the Ducks will be on the road.
Both teams average the identical amount of points each game and have been strong defensively. However, the Ducks??defense has enabled the third-fewest points each game this season and has been very tough against opposing running backs, allowing only 107.5 rushing yards per game. That could be an issue for Washington as it averages 178.7 rushing yards per game. If you are a Huskies backer, then I believe this line will go to +3.5 as we close kickoff.
