Last practice and qualifying for the Japanese GP are expected to take place on Saturday at Suzuka, and F1 states its hoping tominimise disturbance to the program amid worries regarding the storm.
The FIA, Formula 1, Suzuka Circuit and the Japanese Automobile Federation are carefully monitoring Typhoon Hagibis and its possible impact on this 2019 FIA Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix, an F1 statement read.
Every effort is being made to minimise disturbance to the Formula 1 schedule, no matter how the security of the fans, competitors and everyone at the Suzuka Circuit remains the top priority.
All parties may continue to monitor the problem and supply further updates in due course.
No provision has been set in the event of the typhoon disturbance, but one alteration to the schedule that was F1 would be moving straight to Sunday morning prior to the race.
Qualifying was postponed prior to the Sunday before in Japan in 2010 and 2004, because of typhoons.
Tokyo and Toyota is not further south than Suzuka – had been expected to take place, in which the Rugby World Cup matches – but current forecasts predict poor weather on Saturday prior to an improvement on Sunday.
