Tiger Woods undergoes knee surgery, eyes October return

(CNN) — Tiger Woods has revealed he underwent knee surgery a week and says that he expects to return to golfing in October.
The Masters winner declared he had arthroscopic surgery to repair minor cartilage damage in his left knee.
The 43-year-old said he will return in 24-27 — at Japan in the new event — that the Zozo Championship of the PGA Tour October.
“I am walking now and expect to resume exercise within the upcoming few weeks,” that the 15-time major winner said on Twitter. “I look forward to traveling and playing in Japan in October.”
Woods in the past few years has undergone four back surgeries including spinal fusion surgery in 2017, and has experienced a number of processes on his knee over the course of his career.
His surgeon Dr. Vern Cooley said he expected Woods to make a”full recovery.”
“We did exactly what was needed, and also examined the whole knee. There were no extra problems,” added Dr. Cooley, that was also a part of the team that carried out his reconstructive ACL surgery in his knee after his 2008 US Open success.

Woods ended an 11-year wait for his leading in April when he won the Masters but since then he has missed the cut at the Open and the PGA Championship.
He pulled from this Arnold Palmer Invitational earlier this year with a neck strain and also complained in his back.
“I am just not moving nicely,” he told reporters at Royal Portrush. “It is just the way it’s. It father time and a number of processes I have had more than time. It is only the way it’s likely to be.”
Woods withdrew from the Northern Trust of this month at New Jersey mentioning a side strain but returned for the BMW Championship.
He failed to qualify for last week’s season-ending Tour Championship at East Lake, last September, where he clinched his first victory.
