The motorsport community paid its worth to Anthoine Hubert at the Frenchman’s funeral.
Rushing coworkers and friends, including George Russell, Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, and Charles Leclerc, joined friends and Hubert’s family in the service from Chartres, France to recall the 22-year-old.
Hubert was murdered on August 31 in an accident in Spa-Francorchamps.
A portrait of Hubert was displayed beyond the cathedral where the funeral was held. Walkers’ crash helmets were laid out on seats indoors as a sign of respect.
Hubert, the winner of the GP3 championship last year, was a part of Renault’s motorist academy, and also the Enstone team introduced a tribute tribute to him social networking, describing him as a”great” man.
The Formula 2 championship tweeted:”Today, we recalled the shining light of a few of our greatest stars, Anthoine Hubert, with the remaining part of the motorsport community. Our thoughts have been with all those nearest to him, as his life has been celebrated today at Chartres Cathedral.”
FIA president Jean Todt and four-time world champion Alan Prost, who’s a Renault F1 advisor, were among those in attendance.
